The Ken-Bailey Project.
Historically, and unfortunately, the Ken-Bailey neighborhood on Buffalo’s East Side has suffered from lack of funding, development, and access to health, educational, social, and economic resources. With a dysfunctional system providing just one full-time healthcare provider for every 1,250 residents, and the closest medical care provider a 30-minute walk away, our friends at Evergreen Health and Community Access Services (CAS) knew something needed to be done to address health equity in the 14215 zip code.
These inspiring organizations are bringing a new, comprehensive healthcare center to the historic intersections of Kensington and Bailey Avenues in 2026, with ambitious planning already underway. And they asked for our help with branding and spreading the word about this incredible project that has the potential to provide a model for accessible community care across the nation.
Honored to be involved with such an impactful undertaking, we quickly got to work on a name, tagline, and logo for the effort. Knowing how much research, resident feedback, and careful planning went into developing this healthcare hub, we were inspired to highlight this through the tagline, “health equity by design,” and a logo highlighting the new building’s shape. The name, Ken-Bailey Project, is simple and recognizable, representing not only the intersection of these streets, but the equity, access, change, and action that will be meeting here as well.
With these elements, we developed a pitch deck for meetings with interested donors, a video featuring key players in this progress, elements for the groundbreaking event, and a website where everyone can learn more about the Ken-Bailey Project.
We’re so excited about what this project means for our city, and proud of our partners at Evergreen and CAS for making it happen.
