At Crowley Webb, Black Lives Matter.
Our nation has been rocked by the murder of George Floyd. The cries for justice and the dismantling of systemic racism have reached a fever pitch. Finally we are seeing what we hope is the inflection point in the global discussion around racial inequality and social justice.
For some of us at Crowley Webb, this hits close to home. Others are struggling with how to react thoughtfully and meaningfully. We’ve spent time reflecting on our personal privilege and role in systemic racism, our own implicit biases toward people of color, and how we can make real, impactful changes in our own lives and within our community.
Over the last few days, the Crowley Webb leadership team has taken the time to step back, listen, and learn. We also took a long, hard look at the role Crowley Webb has played in our community’s fight against racial inequality. How can we do better? What can we do moving forward to ensure these conversations around racial inequality and social justice continue?
Crowley Webb stands with the Black Lives Matter movement, and we are reaffirming our dedication to people of color in our community and across the country.
For more than 30 years, our friends and partners at Buffalo Prep have been on the front lines of the fight against systemic racism, with their mission rooted in fostering racial and educational equity. Crowley Webb is proud to have stood beside them, and we are incredibly proud that many of our employees have dedicated their own time and resources to this important local organization. We continue to stand with Buffalo Prep as they call for allies to support their students and their mission.
We know representation in advertising matters, and we’re renewing and continuing our efforts to ensure people of color are represented in everything we do.
We will continue to invest in education and training opportunities for employees, arming them with better, actionable ways to improve Crowley Webb’s commitment to racial equity.
We are working to ensure workforce diversity is a priority for the agency moving forward, and we are mobilizing internal committees to hold ourselves accountable.
We are giving our employees a platform to share resources to self-educate and support the movement.
We acknowledge that we have work to do. It’s not going to happen overnight, but we are ready.
